Installation Guide For Rock Space RSD0608

Have you recently purchased the RockSpace (RSD0608) Wi-Fi Extender? Awesome! You’re just a few minutes away from extending your Wi-Fi signals to every room in your house or workplace.

However, in order to fully use the device’s capabilities, it must be correctly configured. So, if you’re not sure how to correctly configure your RockSpace Wi-Fi Extender Setup, this is the page to read! Let’s get started right now!

You have two options for configuring your Rock Space Wi-Fi extender. You may accomplish this using either the WPS button or a web browser. Let us begin with the WPS approach.

WPS Configuration Steps

Using the Wi-Fi-protected setup (WPS) button, you may expand your Wi-Fi network. If your router has a WPS button, it should be labeled “WPS” on your router.

If you can’t locate the button, it’s because your router lacks one (so you will need to use the second method that will be discussed later in the post to extend your Wi-Fi network).

Step 1: Connect your RockSpace Extender to a power source (plug it near the router in the same room). After that, wait a few seconds for the PWR LED to solid blue. Check that the device’s antenna is pointing up and vertically to the ground.

Step 2: Press and hold the WPS button on your router for roughly 2 minutes before pressing the WPS button on the Rock space Wi-Fi extender. Then, wait for the extender’s Signal LED to become solid blue.

Step 3: Change the extender’s location and connect your Wi-Fi devices.

Plug the extender into an outlet midway between the router and the Wi-Fi dead zone for optimal performance. However, be certain that the place you choose is within range of your current Wi-Fi network.

Wait until the Signal LED becomes solid blue. After that, connect your Wi-Fi devices to it. The SSID of your extender is the same as the SSID of your router but with the suffix _EXT/5GEXT. And the password is the same as the one you use for your Wi-Fi router.

Configuration Using a Web Browser

As said earlier, there is another way to set up an Extender setup. If the first strategy did not work for you, you should try this one.

Step 1: Plug the device into a power outlet in the same room as the router and wait for the PWR LED to become solid blue.

Step 2: Connect with the extender’s Wi-Fi through your mobile. However, turn off your Mobile Data. Now, open a web browser and write re.rockspace.local. Conversely, you can also use 192.168.0.254  for the same purpose.

Then, choose the Wi-Fi network that you wish to expand. Enter the network’s password and wait for the “Extended Successfully!” screen to appear.

Step 3: Change the extender’s location and then try to access WiFi.

FAQs and Troubleshooting

What is the procedure for resetting my Rock Space Wi-Fi Extender?

To begin, turn on the gadget. When the PWR LED illuminates, locate a paper clip or other sharp item and push and hold the RESET button. Hold it down for around 5-6 seconds before releasing it.

The PWR LED will then become solid again. When it is solid on, your Rock Space Wi-Fi extender has been reset successfully.

Why can’t I access the Wi-Fi Extender’s web interface?

Here’s how to solve the problem:

1. If you’re using a Wi-Fi device, check to make sure you’re linked to the extender’s Wi-Fi network rockspace EXT and that the Mobile Data feature is turned off.

2. If you use a computer, ensure that you are connected to the extender’s Wi-Fi network rockspace EXT and that your computer is configured to automatically get an IP address and DNS server address. Reset the Wi-Fi extender and try again.

What should I do if my Rock space Wi-Fi Extender cannot connect to my router’s Wi-Fi network?

When this occurs, it is usually because the router is encrypted using WEP or WPA/WPA (Enterprise) methods. Change your router’s encryption type to WPA-PSK or WPA2-PSK, then try scanning again. This time, it should be able to locate your router’s Wi-Fi network.

What should I do if my Wi-Fi extender cannot discover my Wi-Fi signal but can find someone else’s?

This might be because the signal strength on your mobile device is low in the same location. So double-check to be sure. Check to see whether the superior router’s encryption is WEP.

Why is my network still sluggish after I installed a Wi-Fi extender?

First, double-check the indicator’s state. If the color is solid blue, it indicates that your extender is receiving a strong enough signal (above -60db).

However, if it is completely red or has no light at all, the strength is low. In such a scenario, bring your Wi-Fi extender closer and make sure the antenna is pointing up and perpendicular to the ground.

What to do if there is still no internet connectivity?

1. First, check to see whether the extender is working fine or not. The indicator light and administration interface should offer you a hint.

2. Disconnect the device that does not have internet connectivity and reconnect to check whether it is accessible.

3. If the issue is caused by inadequate signal strength, consider relocating the Wi-Fi extender to a different area.

4. When the Wi-Fi extender signal is linked, check to see whether the router has given it an SSID.

5. Reset the Wi-Fi extender and try again with other Wi-Fi signals.

Final Thoughts

So that’s how you get your Rock Space (AC1200 Dual Band) Wi-Fi Extender up and running. If you encounter any issues during or after the setup, reboot the device and begin the setup procedure again. Yes, rebooting the device generally helps to resolve a variety of difficulties, including a sluggish network.
