How to Draw A Tree. Few things are more relaxing than relaxing under the shade of a beautiful large tree. It can also be very beautiful to admire the sight of a tree in a field or to form a beautiful forest.
Also, check our cat coloring sheet.
Trees can also come in many different types, shapes, and colors, which makes them even more beautiful.
If you are a tree lover, you may have wondered how to learn how to draw a tree. If so, then this guide is for you!
Drawing can be a lot easier when you break it down into manageable steps, and that’s exactly what we’ve done to help you.
How to Draw A Tree
Step 1
The first step in this guide to drawing a tree is to draw the top of the tree. To do this, draw some horizontal curved lines that are connected.
You can draw them with a marker pen or pencil, as they appear in the final drawing.
If you have trouble finding the right shape, you can use a lighter-colored pencil first until you are satisfied.
Step 2
You’ll add more treetops for this second step of drawing the tree. Using the reference image, draw more curved lines along the side.
Make sure they flow a bit to give the tree a nice thick top!
Step 3
Add the rest of the leaves in the next step of drawing the tree. Using the same wavy lines, draw the rest of the tree crown, lifting it a bit in the middle as the trunk will protrude into that area.
For this phase, the use of the reference image is particularly helpful. Also, for this phase, it can be helpful to use a light pen before going over it with a pen or a marker pen.
If you use a lighter pencil to draw over, ensure the ink is dry before erasing the pencil lines!
Step 4
For now, you’ve finished the leaves of the tree, so for the next part, draw the trunk of the tree.
This is the toughest piece of this tree drawing, but it can be simple if you take it slow and refer closely to our image here.
Start by drawing a curved line down from the leaves to form the left side of the trunk. Draw a much shorter line on the right side, and then draw the clipped branch as you see in the reference image.
Finally, you must pull the rest of the line out of the cut branch. For the next piece, draw two lines near the top of the center of the trunk to create a space, as you can see in the picture.
All that’s left is to add a few lines at the base of the hull, and you’re ready for the next step!
Step 5
Your tree drawing is almost complete and needs a few more details.
You can make it exactly as they appear in the picture, but feel free to add lines as you like!
There’s no wrong way to do this type of detail, and you should add it in a way that feels great.
Step 6
At this point, you’re almost done with your journey to learn how to draw a tree! For the final details of the trunk, we’ll add mostly straight, thin lines going down the trunk and some wavy ones to indicate knots in the tree.
This is another step where you can copy the lines in the reference image or use them as inspiration for your tree drawing lines.
Step 7
You have now completed your fantastic tree drawing! But you still need to finish. There’s one more fun step, and that’s coloring your tree.
For this step, you should let your creativity run wild! You can opt for a beautiful light green tree or have some beautiful reds, oranges, and yellows for a gorgeous fall tree.
It’s also a lot of fun to experiment with different artistic means. You can use tools like acrylic paints, watercolors, crayons, pencils, and any of your favorite mediums to create beautiful images!
